For 2024's halloween I decided I wanted to go as a FICSIT Engineer, as Satisfactory is one of my favourite games. I had only decided this in the beginning of October, so I didn't have a lot of time to complete this project.Â
I started looking around for models to 3D print, and eventually found one on punishedprops's website, and I got to work.
I started with preparing all parts for printing in Cura, as I only had a max print time of 8 hours, considering I have to use the ones at my college, so I had to be smart with my time management.

Eventually all parts finished printing and I got to work smoothing them out and removing all supports and excess materials.
Next step was to figure out how to attach these pieces together, and had several options with things like glue, chemically melting them together, or melting them together with heat. I eventually decided upon the last option, and decided to melt them together, so I grabbed an old soldering iron and went to work.
Next was painting. I sanded the PLA and sprayed plastic primer on all the parts, after which I started using the colored spray paint. There were supposed to be some blue parts on the helmet aswell, but unfortunately I did not have enough time to add those. Also the masking tape did not work as well as you'd expect it to.
The final steps were attaching all parts together, and putting on the visor, and the steel mesh on the sides and front.
I attached the final parts with a combination of melting the plastic, and attaching them with glue. The antennae was by far the hardest to attach correctly.
And that was the helmet! To put the final parts of the outfit together I purchased some overalls, a thermos shirt, and some biker gloves (which I forgot to wear for the pictures, oops). I attached some reflectors to the overalls and wore skater pads on my knees and elbows for the worker look.
While I still would've liked to add more to this project, like the blue stripes and maybe even a build gun, I'm still very happy with how it all turned out and had a lot of fun putting this cosplay together.
